For some reason, everything this week is SO funny that I laugh until I cry. No complaints here. My abs hurt from laughing so much and so hard. It’s only 11am and i’ve already had a pretty interesting day. The most randomly unexpected event to occur so far . . . hmm that would have to be the text message I just received from Ben, a boy I kissed in Hoboken on Parade Day, that I most likely, unknowingly and unintentionally, gave mono.

I would normally feel really bad about something like that, but Ben and I danced away most of a day together and he neglected to fill me in on some semi-important information. See, when Ben introduced himself, he said he was “from Jersey.” A ton of my friends are from NJ, so I continued getting to know him, hang out with him, and have an awesome time with him, because NJ isn’t that far, I visit often, and if I grew to like him, it wouldn’t really be hard to hang out again. Hours passed. (Or maybe it just seemed like hours because we’d been drinking since 9am) Either way, it was sunny out when I met Ben. It was dark when we finally said goodbye and exchanged numbers.

Although I can’t recall much now, I know at the time I had a pretty good idea of what he did for a living, I met his friends, (god only know what their names are) what he liked to do in his spare time, and that we shared a common interest, the Red Sox.

The reason I don’t feel so bad about possibly giving him mono is that after a day of dancing, getting to know eachother, and swapping spit . . . handsome Ben neglected to tell me he’s “from Jersey,” but actually LIVES IN CHICAGO. He totally did that on purpose. He did however inform me that, “it’s a quick 2 hour flight.” We had fun and he’s adorable. Apparently he’s going to be in NJ to visit his family in May and wants to get together. We finally exchanged facebook pages, so here’s the cyberstalking opportunity. I’m sure i’ll find that he has 100 facebook girlfriends. Friend request sent.

For now, all I can see of MYSTERY MAYBE MONO INFECTED BEN is that he has Ben Affleck look-alike charmingly handsome good looks.

I love Chicago. Maybe handsome Ben will give me a reason to go back and visit my favorite piano bar ever! Dueling pianos are pretty much my favorite way to spend a night out.

I slept with the windows open last night. I actually fell asleep listening to the rain. I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately, but i’m such a homebody during the week and i’m totally loving it. I’m sure once the summer nights roll around there won’t be much more of it, so i’m going to take advantage.

While I was home in RI visiting family a few weekends ago I discovered what could possibly be my new FAVORITE ADULT BEVERAGE ever! I love a good margarita. Or 3. . . but have you ever seen the nutritional facts on a margarita?! Some can have up to 500 freaking calories per serving!!! Well, after shying away from these delicious gulps of Mexico when dining on fajitas … I found the most amazing 37 calorie per serving margaritas and they are AMAZING!!! Funny the way it is

Since I can’t figure out how to merge my 2 wordpress blogs, i’ve neglected this one for a while. Life is good. I’m working on finding balance … with everything. Work, friends, finding the time to travel home and see family … and find my place in the world. I psychoanalyze life on a daily basis. How I could be better doing things … am I judging others too quickly … am I doing the things … am I making good choices … and on top of all of that … trying to rediscover the zest for life I had just a few short years ago. It’s not easy, especially when your mind never stops reevaluating.

I made an awesome purchase yesterday and I can’t stop looking at it. I went to Pier 1 (which was a little weird for me because I worked at one in RI during high school and nothing has changed) and I walked by this easel. I kept looking at it, telling myself I didn’t need it, and then walking away. I walked around picking out little things for my apartment for a while and I couldn’t stop thinking about this easel. It’s swirly and tall and iron-ish looking … it’s so cute … I bought it. I’ve been painting lately and there’s a cavas chilling on it now, but I think it could even look amazing with a mirror on it. A totally ridiculous purchase, but I’m in love with it!

I feel like I traveled back in time a few decades . . .

This morning before I came into work, I stopped to pick up Michael Buble’s new cd that came out yesterday. It’s called CRAZY LOVE and it makes me feel like I traveled back in time. It’s simple, romantic, and sweet. He covers “You’re Nobody til Somebody Loves You” on it and the music is moving. Mmm . . . the SAX is such a smooth sounding instrument. Ahh and I love them the trumpets chime in. It’s great, grab it. It’s totally bubble bath music.

…speaking of… I should probably clean my bath this weekend … it’s due…

I’m not feeling so hot today. Went to bed really early lastnight, slept 12 hours, and i’m still dragging. Feverish, then freezing, and ooooh I almost had a little puke incident here in our office. TMI? Yeah, probably.

It’s Email Wednesday today on the show and we got an email that raises an interesting question, that is probably all about perspective, but what do you think . . . is being called “curvy” a compliment? I’m thinking it all depends on how secure you are with yourself and whether or not you’re actually curvy or just packing a few extra pounds. I’m sure KIM KARDASHIAN has no problem being classified as curvy . . . girlfriend has curves in ALL of the RIGHT places!

My lifeline, err, lap top was sick this week and is finally back from the doctor. It is the most naked feeling not being able to log on from home. I’m back in action… and having a pretty awesome week. I bought a Wii last week and i’m in love with it. Wii Fit is my new favorite evening activity and last night I broke a pretty sweet sweat hula hooping. My new goal is 300 twists in 2 minutes. I should really video tape this sometime – it’s probably really funny to observe. I get REALLY into it.

Moving on …

Tomorrow we’re calling the Cute Canadian Blogger Live on the air. I’ve never talked to him before and i’m starting to get a little nervous about it. Everyone keeps asking me what i’ll do if we has a really dorky voice … something I really hadn’t even thought of. It never crossed my mind. Just from emailing this guy so much and knowing a lot about him, I can’t even imagine him having anything less than a confident, fun, cute sound. Lord. Expectations. Hopefully he won’t think I’M annoying. We’re always so worried about what we’re going to think about other people that we often overlook the possibility that we could be the problem. What if he thinks my voice is annoying? Or that i’m dorky? Dun dun dun … tomorrow’s the day. The Cute Canadian Blogger will finally have a voice.

Ask Men

Lately I’ve been seeing all kind of articles and studies coming from ASKMEN.com … which brought me to a non-bitter, just realistic realization … who asked them!? Who asked you? If you want answers, why would you ask a man? Most of the articles are lists resulting from random sampling that are usually along the lines of something like “The 10 things she wished you didn’t know about her” or “10 Reasons Why You Should NOT Tell Her You Cheated.” What?! My favorite list, really, is a new one they posted … “The Top 10 Cars to Have Sex In.” Now, that my friends, is informative and useful information. If you’re dying to know … #1 was a Bentley. Go figure. Sure, i’d love to have sex in a Bentley, in between trips to Paris, LA, and Tiffanys.

It’s almost as bad as the sad real truth that we women view Cosmo at the freakin’ bible. I read it cover to cover the day it reaches my hands. Atleast COSMO is giving us girls tips that benefit you boys in the bedroom … rather than telling us to lie, cheat, and steal!

Ok, maybe the site isn’t totally lame. I did just stumble upon an article about a website that rates public bathrooms. RESTROOMRATINGS.com. That’s awesome. I would love that job. Ok, so i’ll quit hating on AskMen.com is they quit coming out with lame-ass lists. Deal? That includes the featured list “Ways to Dodge the L Bomb.” Stop feeding BOYS these ideas! No wonder women are insecure and crazy … these boys are reading articles that make them do stupid things that drive these women nuts! A vicious cycle!

The thing about possibilities is that they are endless, limitless, and fascinating. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the here and now that we forget that there is a huge world out there and a bigger life waiting to be lived. That life is one big possibility. I like to dwell in possibilities. Possibilities are what get me through sweating the small stuff. Chance and possibility. The little things that encourage you to leap. What are the chances that I met a really cool guy online? Ha – there’s a possibility that I could be crazy, or he could be crazy, or that I look too far into things… but if you don’t imagine the possibilities, then you can kiss them goodbye. So … I’m gonna share some goodies… I think I have a crush on a semi-stranger. Ok, maybe a total stranger. Well, is someone still a stranger if you talked a bunch of times? Ok, by saying “talk” i’m really meaning email.

::Rewind::

A little over a month ago I saw this video online and I emailed the guy who made it. It was really well done and when I went to the blog it was hosted on, I realized the guy who put it together is actually a really clever, witty, creative writer. Sooo … we’ve been emailing. I’m talking long, intriuging, getting-to-know-you emails. These emails take so long to write that sometimes I find myself replying for a good hour. It’s like having a pen pal, but a pen pal that you really wish you could just call up and go have a drink with. My favorite part of these emails is how broad thinking this guy is … ooh and that we end them with a bunch of random, fun, and sometimes spicy questions. I’ll share more later.

Hey dudes. Happy Labor Day. We’re working today – show time in a little bit. I had Friday off, so no complaints. Crue Fest kicked some serious ass on Friday. We tailgated … jello shots … fabulous fun! I even took a picture with a fake deer?! – yeah, welcome to Northeast Pa! Apparently people shoot at them? All I know is that after a few drinks and countless jello shots, a fake deer that I randomly spotted in the back of someone’s truck was the funniest thing I had ever seen. I mean really. We traded photos opps with the plastic deer for jello shots. Thanks to Scott for hooking us up with pit passes. We almost got killed during Godsmack, but it was totally worth it being able to see up Tommy Lee’s nose and make some serious eye contact with Motley Crue’s slutty, awkward, scantily dressed dancers.

If you’re a Kings of Leon fan, I have a feeling you’ll LOVE this video as much as I do. I just found it like an hour ago and I haven’t stopped replaying it over and over. I have a whole new appreciation for the song. God love KOL. They’re playing in NJ and NY this weekend, but it’s a little mush person’s 2nd birthday back in RI and a Thomas the Tank Engine birthday party takes the cake. (Yeah, you should’ve seen me shopping for those gifts yesterday … i’m the moron who buys toys that say 8+ on them for a 2 year old.)

Proof that women dress to impress other women

The Britney Spears concert on Sunday night in Philly was all the proof I needed to back this up … Women dress to impress OTHER women. Why else would 90% of the girls there dress skantily clad and rock 6 inch heels? I don’t know about you, but at a concert, I want to jump around and act like an idiot. I can’t do that in 6 inch heels. I can’t do much 6 inch heels. Actually, I can’t even walk like a human in 4 inch heels. Flats for me at concerts. Especially a BRITNEY CONCERT. Sorry ladies, but there’s no one to impress at a Britney Spears concert. The boys there aren’t interested in girls and the girls there really don’t care what you’re wearing … unless you look like you’re trying too hard to be sexy, and then they’re making fun of you. (Not that I would do that or anything … )

Guys, for the most part, NEVER look down at your feet to see what kind of shoes you’re wearing. If they do, it’s only because you’re complaining so much about how bad your feet hurt. Guys also don’t take notice when your hair is super straight or realize that you spent 45 minutes taking an iron to it to make it look like that. I’m finally starting to understand the low-key look and why most guys prefer it over the high matinence girl who takes so long to get ready. Those girls usually look super fake and they can’t keep up when you’re walking. Who wants to bring the chick in 7 inch heels who has to walk with super small steps and looks like she’s going to lose her balance any minute? Flip flops and flats it is. I’ll save the pain and annoyance of heels for occasions. Whoever said BEAUTY is PAIN is an idiot.

You know what else struck me as funny at that show … I’ve never in my life seen so many girls in one place CHOWING DOWN hard core on junk food. Seriously, hundreds of ladies gorging on cheese steaks, cheesey fries, gyros, pretzels … and beer. I tried to take a picture of the little dining area next to the bar, but it came out too dark. I’m talking atleast 300 skanky-dressed women CHOWING DOWN. You had to be there.

Taylor Swift is the cutest person ever!

I’m all about the mini road trips. Yesterday my friend Tanya and I drove to CT to see Taylor Swift in concert. (Probably not a great idea to take I-95 on a Friday considering we CRAWLED and it took us 4 hours longer than it SHOULD have, but that’s beside the point.) Can I just say … I love her. She seems SO genuine and you can tell she really LOVES performing. The crowd screamed SO loud for SUCH a long time … it was pretty amazing. You could tell she was really blown away by the audience. They wouldn’t stop screaming – and it was a STRONG, LONG bout of screaming. It was moving. I couldn’t stop thinking about how great she is. I really think she is an awesome role model for young girls. She doesn’t dance sexy or sing about sexy things. There’s no chance of a nip slip because she’s always dressed really appropriately … and … her tour is the FEARLESS TOUR … and she encourages all of the young girls to be strong, be kind, and do what makes them happy. There were a bunch of scene changes with positive messages in them too. So not only she is sweet sweet sweet as a performer, but she proves herself to be someone great for young people to look up to. I can’t say enough good things about her. Of all of the concerts i’ve ever been to, hers was the most heart-felt, motivating, and moving. I feel like she’s my friend, I’m so proud of the Tay-ster.

What was also pretty amazing, or umm, awkward, is DRINKING at a Taylor Swift concert. That was a challenge, I’m not gonna lie. There was so many young girls there … probably there seeing their first concert EVER … and here we are … drinking. I’m sorry but concerts some drinks just seem to go together. Like peanut butter and jelly. We behaved… no worries.

I also got to meet American Idol’s … Kellie Pickler! She opened up for Taylor and geez … THAT GIRL WEARS LIKE 7 inch heels. I can barely BARE to walk in 3 or 4 inchers … girlfriend has SKILL! And oh my god – she is TINY.

I was really hoping to spot Jon and Kate Plus 8’s Jon Gosselin ( he hangs out at the Mohegan Sun in CT ALL the time) but that was a no go. I think it’s his weekend with the kids because Kate is on a press tour. (Is it pathetic that I am trying to master their parenting schedule?)

(Yes, I know, the cute guy is clearly not Taylor. His name is Mike and he is super talented. He stuck his tongue out at us. So now we love him. Who doesn’t love a boy with a bango?!)

How cool is she? She ended the show being rained on. Soaking wet. Creativeee!
